This Ministry has developed policies accumulate information and data. Among the
prominent policies is stipulated the improvement of the data system,
administration of information and updated social research. |

|
The Centre has been progressing through the
successful achievements: |
-
A System Data
net has been established 86 constructed by
Sudan University of Science & Technology
with computer units.
-
Units of the
Division are now connected through E-mail
network to facilitate correspondence and the
exchange of ideas.
-
Local net has
been utilized in messages. Files are
transmitted and relevant data supplied.
-
Economy
drives are enhanced by partnership in
internet and typewriters.

In training Activity: |
-
Training
courses were executed to root out illiteracy
for manpower within the Division,
coordinated in cooperation with the National
Information Centre at the percentage of 84%.
-
Training
Instrument Operators of the Division and
subordinate units to use the nets and
exchange files through the net and E-mail.
-
Training
courses were arranged for our personnel at
the Management Development Centre in the
field of data centre administration, office
management, net maintenance, design and
promotion of locations, statistical analysis
and archive keeping skills. At the National
Information Centre they received training on
the E-mail and data security.

In the field of data system, programmers at
the Centre undertook the following: |
-
Design and
analysis of investment in data bases for
Division Headquarters. The oracle programme
was utilized in the system design.
-
The Access
programme has been used to design the data
base system for the manpower in the
Division.
-
An archive
system has been designed for documents in
the Executive Office, the library, work
papers as well as the domestic, regional and
international reports on social activity.
-
A follow-up
system as per the Access programme was
installed.
-
An integrated
filing system for the Division and
affiliated units has been constructed. Data
can now be maintained, documented and
retrieved to serve plans, programmes,
reports and files promptly and effectively.
-
A data base
for Cabinet correspondence, agenda items of
the Council and sectorial technical
committees has been installed.
